Tyskland gör miljardsatsning på artificiell intelligens
Den tyska regeringen kommer att lägga motsvarande 12 miljarder kronor på AI-forskning under de två kommande åren. Det rapporterar Reuters. Det innebär att Tyskland nu satsar dubbelt så mycket pengar på artificiell intelligens som landet tidigare gjort, och tanken är att Tyskland med hjälp av satsningen ska kunna tävla med USA och Kina på området. Satsningen innefattar bland annat att det tillkommer 150 AI-laboratorier på tyska universitet.

Musk, tech CEOs to attend Schumer’s AI Senate forum
The top executives at tech companies, including the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, are among the confirmed guests at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) first scheduled “Insight Forum” about artificial intelligence (AI), the senator’s office said Monday. The AI Insight Forum, scheduled for Sept. 13, will also include Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google parent company Alphabet. In addition to the executives, others from “worker, advocacy, civil rights, and creative groups,” will join as guests, according to Schumer’s office.

Medan teleoperatörerna för fulla muggar försöker få finländare att ta till sig 5G-tekniken håller ett hundratal finländska forskare och tekniska visionärer på att skissa fram nästa generations mobilnätverk. En av dem är Mikko Uusitalo, forskningschef på Nokia Bell Labs. – Vi har redan byggt upp testsystem i mindre skala för att visa upp 6G på olika teknikmässor, men rent tekniskt går det inte att göra ett fullskaligt system än. Eftersom Kina och USA glider allt längre isär geopolitiskt inför nästa generations mobiltelefoni är det av högsta prioritet att enas om en global standard för 6G. Det här är något som alla länder är överens om.
